Today at E3 2010, Atlus—purveyors of the weird and wonderful—announced the next game in the exploration RPG Etrian Odyssey.
Subtitled “The Drowned City”, the game Atlus calls a “Loving tribute to pen-and-paper RPGs” takes place in the seas off the coast of the City of Armoroad. The player’s job is to explore, chart, discover, and battle their way through the vast land and seascape, using the touchscreen map editor to ensure accuracy.
Screwing up the map could spell doom for your intrepid band of adventurers, so you’d better brush up on your cartography skills.
Etrian Odyssey III is scheduled for a Fall 2010 release on the Nintendo DS.
