It’s well-known that Apple’s Quicktime software likes to get its shifty fingers all up in Windows’ business. What should be a simple application for media playing throws itself to all corners of your hard drives and tries to take over like a mother-in-law on an uninvited visit.

Thankfully, there’s Quicktime Alternative which pares down Apple’s bloated beast to the bare essentials. Play downloaded and streaming Quicktime movies as well as streaming MP3s in Firefox.

It’s probably our best download of the day to date.

I can't freaking stand QuickTime. It's almost as bad as Norton/Symantec AV software...
