BlackBerry Tour updated to OS 5.0

Verizon has today announced that the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is now eligible to receive an update to OS 5.0, the first QWERTY phone in the BlackBerry lineup to officially receive the update.

“Get the most out of your BlackBerry Tour. Verizon Wireless is pleased to announced new software enhancements for your BlackBerry Tour smartphone,” said in its release notes. “The Research In Motion (RIM) 5.0.0 releases 1002 (platform 4.2.0.272/applications 5.0.0.591) update will make using your BlackBerry Tour even more enjoyable. Verizon Wireless and RIM encourage you to upgrade to OS version 5.0 today.”
