CB I saw this on a TV show a few years ago (a documentary about indipendant programs) and I've wondered if it would ever make it to market. It look neat.

I wonder how well it would work with my dual monitor set-up.
  2. ardichoke
ardichoke I used that a while ago, back before I joined Icrontic actually. It's a neat idea but I found it completely impractical for daily use, not to mention half their plugins were broken already (I installed it right after it came out of beta). Back then I was using the Google Sidebar, since I was still on XP but I like having widgets, and it did not play nice with that at all. It would completely cover it up then sometimes the sidebar would pop in front of it, total mess. Overall, I wasn't impressed and wouldn't bother installing it again.

NiGHTS I played with it for 10 minutes and came to the same conclusion ardichoke has: impractical. As for dualies, CB, don't bother. While I didn't look that hard to find a setting for it, this particular desktop replacement wouldn't gain anything from being spread across two monitors.

_k If you could run on extended desktops, drop running apps, and spin to view live updates from items on the wall yes then I would love you Bump Top. I use the super bar for win7 and do the ghost switch to view info or updates. I already have enough desktop space to cover what this would do for me.
  5. UPSLynx
UPSLynx Hmm... I too remember seeing this years ago. I'll certainly try it, as it's interested me for a long time now. I can see it being impractical though unless you really master the gestures and shortcuts.

I wonder what kind of performace effects this has on gaming and normal use?

Suffers just like any other desktop replacement you might run. I could hear the fan on the 4850 spin up as I fooled around with the app.
  7. Shorty
Shorty Downloaded, install later. Seems like the performance overhead and the lack of actual usuable usage posibilities is throwing most people off!
  8. DrLiam
DrLiam Bugs, bugs, bugs and more bugs. Been using 1.2 for a month now and it's still quite buggy. I crash often (application reset required). As well, BumpTop slows my performance down a little too much for my taste.

Howdy, Stranger!
