If you are one of the 25 people left on this planet who hasn’t played Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 yet, this weekend is your chance to take the game for a spin free of charge. The multiplayer-only promotion can be preloaded through Steam now.
The promotion begins tomorrow, April 8th. Those that preload the game early will be able to start shooting modern weapons in a modern theater of war when the clock strikes midnight. The mutliplayer-only gig will be playable through the weekend.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has broke numerous sales records since its release last November. It has since become one of the most popular multiplayer shooters on consoles, and shares a considerable amount of players on the PC platform as well. The game did have some identity issues with the PC crowd, enough of which to make our Top 11 Gaming Fails of 2009, which certainly affected sales on the platform. This promotion is likely an effort to increase those lagging sales on the PC.
