Canada finally gets Netflix

Canada finally gets Netflix

Residents of America’s frozen cousin to the north have a reason to rejoice today, as Netflix has just announced their expansion into Canada. Canadians will be able to stream unlimited movies and TV episodes to computers and TVs starting this fall.

This marks Netflix’s first foray into the market outside of the U.S., as well as the first streaming-only service. Customers of Netflix will not be able to order movies by mail, but must view them over the internet. The Canadian service is also only available in English for the time being, but Quebec citizens need not be alarmed—French will be added over time.

Those interested in using the Canadian Netflix can sign up at to www.netflix.ca and will receive a notice when the service becomes available.

    GooD Good news :)

Its nice to see them think about Quebec people too ;)

I live in Quebec and i speak french but I only listen movies in French when its a complicated story and that i don't want to miss a word. Otherwise i watch movies in English to practice but more importantly because there's nothing better than the original sound track of a movie :P

Thankx for sharing this news !

No, I think that's only a problem if it's the other way around.
Yes, I'm already aware I'm a horrible person, but thanks for noticing

spin498 And I see that one of Canada's largest ISP's, Rogers, which I unfortunately use, has changed their broadband plans in preparation of jamming it's customers.

Rogers has always openly throttled there customers for years. If you yell enough at there customer service reps they'll give you the number for the "Office Of The President" aka the man in charge. They'll tell you flat out if you don't want to be throttled, switch to a different ISP....

I went with Teksavvy and even though Bell throttles them since they're whole sale customers there's a way around Bell's throttle. It's called MLPPP using a program called Tomato...

Check them out. They're USUALLY pretty decent....even give you step by step customer support for beating Bell's throttle :thumbup

Check out my ISP blog for more details...
