Today EEDAR, the Electronic Entertainment Design and Research, released the results of metrics collected by analyzing streams for IGN GamerMetrics and GameTrailers to discover the buzz behind E3 2010.
The charts show what we basically discovered organically: That Nintendo “felt” like it had the best showing at E3 2010 this year. The pageview statistics provided today further support that idea. As far as individual games that showed well, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood and Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (our impression) did incredibly well, with other two million pageviews for the Skyward Sword trailer on GameTrailers alone.
The Nintendo 3Ds, while immensely buzz-worthy on Twitter and on the web, didn’t necessarily show well in these statistics, however. The lack of video content and other information about the 3D handheld tells a story: the 3DS is best experienced in person.
E3 2010 was an amazing show, despite some major disappointments, and the stats show that gaming is bigger than ever. It’s a great time to be a gamer.
