Why don't OUR press events have hot cosplayers?
Just last week we talked excitedly about Dragon Quest IX being dual-platform released for both Nintendo DS and Wii. Well skip all that, because Giant Bomb is reporting that a low-key press event in Tokyo (translation) revealed that Dragon Quest X has been announced as a Wii exclusive.
At a press event that took place at 2pm Tokyo time, designer Horii Yuuzi, Square Enix President Yoichi Wada, and DQ Executive Producer Miyaki Tamotsu took the stage to announce the final ship date of Dragon Quest IX in Japan as March 28th, 2009. We’ll probably see a North American launch in fall of ’09 if things go the way they usually do.
After the excitement died down, they revealed the reason they were REALLY there: Horii Yuuzi said that although people were discussing Dragon Quest IX on the Wii, in fact they were here to announce that it was Dragon Quest X that would be appearing on the console. Afterwards, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata took the stage to say that Nintendo expects Dragon Quest IX to blow away everyone’s expectations.
