EVGA releases free performance boost for EVGA-branded NVIDIA GTX460 cards

Today EVGA’s Jacob Freeman posted on EVGA forums the “FPB” or Free Performance Boost for NVIDIA GTX 460 cards made by EVGA. The FPB is a firmware update that increases the core clock increased to 720/1440 and allows the fanspeed to be cranked up to 100%.

The firmware update applies only to EVGA part numbers 768-P3-1360-XX and 01G-P3-1371-XX (both standard and SuperClocked editions).

  1. fatcat
fatcat so that brings their normal GTX460's to 720/1440 and their superclocked versions are still 763/1526

$10 price difference, but I'd be willing to bet those normal GTX460's do the superclocked speed no problem, and $10 gets me a nice meal at chipotle

Cliff_Forster EVGA can do themselves some fancy marketing.....
  3. resident Actually, those two part numbers you list are both stock speeds. One is the 768mb version and the other is the 1gb version. You can tell by the start of the part numbers.

Also, the updates are for all EVGA GTX 460 cards but the clock increases are only for the stock cards.

Sledgehammer70 Actually EVGA hand tests their overclocked cards.
  5. TurboPenguin
TurboPenguin Just updated my LAN rig which has GTX 460 SC EE, and my clocks are now running at 800/1600/2000 and its very very nice to be able to get 100% fan on the 460. EVGA has without question the best customer service and customer care for nVidia cards. I would even venture to say they are the best among all the GPU vendors!
