Expo Icrontic 2013 sponsors

Expo Icrontic 2013 sponsors

One of the most popular (go figure) attractions of Expo Icrontic every year is the epic swag table; we get a lot of support from a lot of awesome companies, and we pile everything onto a table for attendees to oogle and ogle and goo and gah over all during the event. For participating in various events, attendees get tickets; they can put their tickets into prize jars that represent the various pieces of swag on the table and at the conclusion of Expo, we draw names for the prizes. The beauty of this “Chinese-style” auction is that people only put tickets in for prizes they actually want, or can use, rather than winning something that they don’t need.

This year, we are proud to be sponsored by the following excellent companies:

OCZ SSD LogoOCZ TECHNOLOGY

Purveyors of the world’s fastest SSDs, OCZ has been another very generous and supportive company to Icrontic over the years. This year, they’re coming through once again with tons of swag for the eager tech-savvy masses, including a few t-shirts, some water bottles, buttons, bags, screwdriver kits, and, oh you know, no big deal, a 120gb Vertex 3 SSD, the ever-famous OCZ Behemoth mousepads, and a PC Power & Cooling PSU. Awww yiss!

Futuremark LogoFUTUREMARK

Futuremark, makers of the what could be considered the world’s standard for enthusiast and hobbyist benchmarking software, 3DMark, has been consistently awesome in providing both 3DMark Advanced keys for our group as well as hardware in the past. This year, they’re providing 10 keys for 3DMark Advance

GX Gaming LogoGENIUS / GX GAMING

Last year, Genius and their GX Gaming brand came through strong and did us a solid by providing some of their DeathTaker gaming mouse models and Cavimanus gaming headsets for our prize table. This year they’re back with a vengeance, and providing us with some awesome new gaming mouse models: a GX Gaming Gila mouse and a GX Gaming Cavimanus headset for our ultimate gaming pleasure. What’s more, they’re sending along the new F-1000 gaming arcade stick!

Fractal Design logoFRACTAL DESIGN

Fractal Design is an innovative PC case company that we’ve covered in the past and have really loved checking out at Computex and CES. To show their support of the PC gaming community, they’re sending along one of their awesome Define R4 Titanium Grey (with window) cases, as well as a Define Mini case for those who are looking for a feature-packed Mini-ITX or Micro-ATX enclosure.

NZXT LogoNZXT

NZXT is an Icrontic favorite, as over the years we’ve reviewed many of their awesome cases and accessories. They’re also very popular prize giveaways at the Expo Icrontic prize table, and this year should be no exception. NZXT is kindly sending along NZXT T-shirts, earplugs, two NZXT GRID 10-port fan hubs, two NZXT Sentry Mix 2 fan controllers, and a bunch of other swag.

AMD LogoAMD

AMD has awesome GPUs. That is a fact. AMD is sending along a Radeon HD 7870 retail package. That is also a fact. You can win this card. Fact. Questions?

SEGA LogoSEGA

A new sponsor for Expo Icrontic, we are very happy to announce that SEGA has thrown in support in the form of many awesome games, including codes for Jet Set Radio, Bayonetta, Sonic Generations, AND a couple of Collector’s Editions of the epic Company of Heroes 2.

OWC LogoOTHER WORLD COMPUTING / NEWERTECH

We’ve been covering OtherWorldComputing and Newer Technology for a few years now, and have always come away with a strong appreciation for their product lines, from the Mercury Electra SSDs to the awesome (and currently installed in IcronticHQ) Power2U USB electrical outlets. This year, they are giving us the Icrontic High Five and donating some awesome prizes for the swag table, including some NewerTech Mousepads, NewerTech toolkits, and, oh, you know, a 120gb Mercury Electra 6G SSD.  Get those tickets ready, because that’s gonna be a hot prize jar.

EA Games LogoEA GAMES

Every single year, without fail, EA Games comes through with some awesome games for us to give away as a gesture of community outreach. They have been one of our most consistent and appreciated supporters. In the past they’ve provided console games for a variety of platforms, including Wii, Xbox 360, PC, and PlayStation 3. They don’t skimp, either: AAA titles like Dead Space, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, and more have all made appearances at previous events. This year, they sent along four Xbox 360 games: Need for Speed Most Wanted: Limited Edition, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 14: Masters Historic Edition, SSX, and Army of Two: The Devil’s Circle.

As always, this post will be updated as more sponsors come online and more prizes are added. Stay tuned!

    Linc Thanks for the support!

Tim Could I be a sponsor for Expo Icrontic? I was just thinking of providing a few prizes for contests and drawings and such when I saw this topic. Nothing costing hundreds of dollars, of course, but smaller things.
  4. Canti
Canti I'm Canti and I approve of anything Tim does.
  5. primesuspect
primesuspect sure! _k_ is going to sponsor a couple of Steam things, and we've had personal sponsors in past years too.
  6. Tim
Tim Ok, I was thinking of creating multi-DVD sets of the high bit rate, high video quality copies of all 171 (to date) episodes of "Online Video", the internets' comedy / opinion webshow, at www.loudmouthtim.com , now running for OVER 10 years! Before there was Facebook, before there was YouTube, before there was MySpace, there was Online Video!

Currently, no complete copies exist outside of my own backup files. Collectors item, perhaps?

So Prime, how many DVD sets do you think will be an adequate number to give away as prizes at Expo Icrontic?
  7. BobbyDigi
BobbyDigi I'd waste a ticket on that.

primesuspect Man, I'D LOVE to give away a complete DVD of all Loudmouth Tim episodes. That would be incredible. 3? 5?

Tim I'm kinda surprised no one has said this is one of my best trolls yet. I would burn a set if someone wanted it.

A while back someone emailed me and asked for the high quality copies of all the episodes featuring the now-dead Richard "Agee" Maxwell. There were 9 episodes. Since his mailing address was local, I delivered it in person without letting him know I was coming. I'm sure it was a pleasant surprise for him, he seemed excited.

@snarkasm should have copies of most of the episodes around somewhere.

Tim He has the low bit rate release versions. For a few years I put the high bit rate verions on a special page of my site but stopped that about 4 years ago. Only way to get the high bit rate high video quality episodes is if I burn a DVD set. The few on YouTube are a mid range video quality setting.

The episode quality doesn't change, just the video quality. Bigger clearer video.

i dunno man, if you're going for a true collector's edition experience, you need to have the deleted scenes and director's commentary tracks.
  19. Tim
Tim I don't know, the deleted scenes would be pretty boring. There's rarely been a scene filmed that didn't get into an episode in at least some form. Anything not used is a version of a scene with a mistke in it. For example, in episode #171 "Parking Meter Revenge", the scene in the parking lot with the sledgehammer and spray can of undercoating took 20 takes to get one clean 2-1/2 minute long take all in one shot where I hit all my main talking points, no cars drove by on the road making too much noise, and I didn't stumble over any words and sound like an idiot. That was one of my more difficult to film scenes ever.
