I caught this on Reddit the other day. It's an entire community of Fallout LARPers in Russia who create authentic costumes and practically live a RL version of the game world.
There is a big difference between forty people LARPing Fallout in well-crafted costumes, with visually appropriate settings and five people LARPing Vampire the Masquerade in their t-shirt and jeans with their dorm building as the setting.

This. It's hard to find a good group to LARP with. I've never tried it, and admit that it does seem far fetched, but if I found a good group that wasn't full of neckbeard weirdo nerds, then I could get into it.

The difference being that the latter group has wasted less of their life on it?
