FCC makes public its “white space” rules

Today, the FCC adopted a Second Report and Order outlining the rules associated with deploying broadband access across the soon to be opened white spaces.

With the move from analog to digital TV service, the opening of the spectrum to allow the in between spaces was fought for as a broadband spectrum. Having been approved as an open spectrum, the interest in developing open broadband applications has increased.
