Firefox achieves record market share

The Mozilla Foundation’s succesful Firefox browser adds another feather to its cap with the announcement that it now commands a 20% market share.

While Internet Explorer continues to lose ground to the relatively recent growth of third-party browsers, Firefox has long been on a steady incline. Gaining 0.25% market share per month throughout 2008, it is expected that Firefox will continue to grow in the coming years.

In the same time period, Internet Explorer has lost just north of 4% to the combined offensive of Firefox, Chrome and Safari.

Firefox is one of the most popular applications amongst Icrontic staff. We love it so much that we’re constantly searching to bring you a great new addon every day.

QCH Firefox is my default browser and I use it for 95% of all my (extensive) web browsing.

CB Wait, you mean there are still people using other browsers?
  3. l.m.orchard I'm biased, but I tend to think most of IE's market share is based on computers people don't really care all that much about. Locked down corporate machines, spare bedroom machines running WinME, you know...

muddocktor Basically all I ever use IE for is to update windows and that's about it. Otherwise Firefox FTW!
  5. GnomeWizardd
GnomeWizardd IE is used for updating and when my wife plays backgammon on MSN games thats it, the rest of the time is Google chrome
