While web developers will get the most use out of this addon, it’s a sad fact that websites explicitly designed for Internet Explorer make IE Tab a powerful addition to any Firefox user’s repertoire. Rather than switching to Internet Explorer to visit those sites, IE Tab allows a user to load IE’s rendering engine inside of a Firefox tab.
This means that any website visited from Firefox in a tab powered by IE Tab will think it’s being loaded and run from within Internet Explorer. There’s one caveat to this: Firefox’s security doesn’t apply. This tab is susceptible to all the exploits Internet Explorer is susceptible to.
As an addon of convenience, you can finally feel free to banish those IE icons from your desktop and never have to switch browsers again!
