Firmware bug halts Intel’s 34nm SSD sales

intelIntel has halted sales of its new 34nm SSDs as a result of a firmware bug which renders the drive’s data inaccessible if users configure and then alter or disable a BIOS password.

    GooD Hope they'll get this right, if we want people to adopt SSD , SSD will need an image of performance and stability. Stories like that doesnt help =/

    lordbean That shouldn't hurt the technology too much. That sounds like a minor glitch which should be easy to fix - although unfortunately it means all the units produced with the bad firmware will either have to be patched or recalled.
