First free Portal 2 DLC coming October 4th

Portal 2 DLC
A note to companies who like to charge $5-$15 for every single costume, character, and other inane DLC they can cram down gamers’ throats:

Valve announced today that the first DLC for Portal 2, a new co-op campaign entitled “Peer Review”, brings bots P-Body and Atlas back together to struggle through new test chambers and face off against GlaDOS. There’s also a single player and co-op Challenge Mode with leaderboards.

The DLC will be available on all platforms: PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Valve: mostly doin’ it right since 1996.

Wasn't there some explanation that if the actual developers aren't interested, then it doesn't happen?

    awesome

CB Yeah, the way Valve's development process works, the devs pick which games they want to work on, and form their own development teams within the company. If none of the devs is passionate enough about a title to start a team, it doesn't get made. Newell has said in interviews that he doesn't think anyone is passionate about Half Life anymore, so it'll likely never get made.

fatcat guess I'm no longer passionate about buying anymore Valve games...

it's okay. EA, Bioware, Blizzard will have my money for the next year or so
  9. Tushon
Tushon I understand what you are saying, but writing off Valve because they won't release a third (expected) part of a game seems like an overreaction. Do what you like though :/

Canti It makes sense that if no one cared enough to put in the effort for episode 3 that it probably wouldn't be very good as it would be basically forced out. Still dropping it after the end of episode two is a hell of a way to end the series. Imagine if George Lucas hadn't bothered to make Return of the Jedi. Inb4 "no Ewoks? lol good"
