First issue of new Stan Lee comic released for free online

We don’t see much from the famous Stan Lee in this era of comics, but he hasn’t been completely dormant. He’s currently co-writter for a new comic book serial, Stan Lee’s Soldier Zero. Issue #8 came out recently, and now the first collection is out in soft-back.

As a gift for fans (and to drum up interest, of course) the  first issue of the serial has been made available for free over on Comic Book Resources’ website.

The issue comes with this synopsis:

STAN’S BACK! Stan Lee, the most colossal force in the history of comics, teams up critically acclaimed writer Paul Cornell (ACTION COMICS, DOCTOR WHO) and artist Javier Pina (SUPERMAN, BATMAN) for the dramatic, action-packed superhero scorched, SOLDIER ZERO! Half-Human. Half-Alien. All Weapon…and all in this brand new collection! Compiling the highly celebrated first arc “One Small Step for Man,” find out Soldier Zero’s origin and how wheelchair-bound college lecturer Stewart Trautmann becomes an intergalactic weapon of war. This can’t-miss edition features a cover by fan-favorite X-MEN artist, Trevor Hairsine!

kryyst It does read like classic Stan Lee. Which is to say it feels kinda dated and something I might have been interested in 20 years ago.

CB Unfortunately, that's what most of the reviews have been saying. They also say that it gets better after the first few issues, however.

I haven't read it myself yet, though. It's on it's way to me as we speak, so I can judge better when it arrives.

Howdy, Stranger!
