First new game to launch under SteamPlay: Guns of Icarus

Guns of Icarus, an independent title from Muse Games, will be the first indie title to debut on Steam in both the Mac & PC stores, alongside the launch of the new Mac Steam client. The game is set in a steampunk-style world, where the protagonist is an airship pirate who must defend his cargo through dangerous airspace, combining FPS style combat with time management and resource trading mechanics.

“We’re so excited to join Steam in the launch of their groundbreaking Mac client, in addition to serving their vast PC userbase,” said Howard Tsao, CEO of Muse Games. “Today’s a great day for gamers & developers alike. ”

“Tools such as Steam and Unity allow a small development team like ours to focus on what matters most, the game itself,” said Brian Kehrer, Technical Director for Muse Games. “Every minute spent porting means a minute lost from gameplay.”

Watch for a review of Guns of Icarus to show up on Icrontic in the next couple of weeks.

Guns of Icarus is available starting today through the Steam store.

QCH I remember playing Crimson Skies... Good LAN game from way back when.

kryyst I remember Crimson Skies fondly. I feel nothing but pain whenever I play another game that even comes close to CS. Now if only Smith and Tinker would get off their asses and do something with the license.
