Forsaken World coming to US market

Perfect World Entertainment, developer and publisher behind the popular dungeon crawler Torchlight, today unveiled a US teaser site for their MMORPG, Forsaken World, which had previously been announced only for release in China. There wasn’t much doubt that it would be released in the US, after the success of Torchlight, but the teaser site makes it a certainty.

Forsaken World is intended to be an MMO that brings together the fantasy worlds of the East and West, combining the most interesting elements from European and Asian myths. The game will have 5 distinct races, 8 classes and 11 occupations (including Socialite, Astrologist and Collector) to choose from in a high-fidelity 3D world.

“Forsaken World highlights our commitment to bringing the highest quality, free-to-play gaming experience to North America. We have been working with developers from around the world to create a new and exciting experience that aims/strives to appeal to players everywhere,” said Yoon Im, General Manager of Perfect World Entertainment. “We are very excited to be unveiling the teaser site for Forsaken World. This is our first game designed specifically with the Western market in mind and we have high expectations for its success.”

No release date has yet been announced.

MAGIC Free to play, huh? I like the sound of that. I like the east/west mythological base, and the screen shots look great. I'll check this out.

Garg What Magic said. If the gameplay elements are close to what I'm looking for, then I'd love to play an attractive game with the east/west mix.

Their website needs better localization, though. There's plenty of obscure background history, but it's hard to figure out much about the gameplay.

Howdy, Stranger!
