Futuremark giveaways to coincide with release of 3DMark11

Futuremark’s latest benchmark suite, 3DMark 11 is all set for release November 30.  The new version adds in tests for DirectX 11 graphics cards with some absolutely stunning scenes.  Don’t believe me? Check it out:

To help kick off the launch, Futuremark has a pair of contests running that involve two of their partners, MSI and Antec.

First up is a “Guess the Score” contest.  Three systems have been assembled, and each will be tested with 3DMark 11.  Your mission is to guess how those three systems will score on the benchmark.  For each system the person with the closest guess to the actual score as measured by Futuremark’s test lab team will win the MSI motherboard and GPU from that system and a copy of 3DMark 11 Advanced edition.

The second contest involves creating a design for the Antec Dark Fleet DF-85 inspired by the High Temple scene in 3DMark 11.  Templates for the case design are available from the contest web site.  Just download and be creative.  The winner will get a case hand-painted with their design. The “inspirational” video is below.

3DMark 11 Advanced Edition can be pre-ordered now from the Futuremark web site for $19.95.  All versions will be available to download on November 30.  Of course Icrontic will add this into our benchmark suite as soon as it’s released.

UPDATE 11/29/2010:

The release will be delayed, according to Futuremark:

Our aim is that 3DMark 11 should provide accurate, reliable and consistent results from the start. With that goal in mind we are taking some extra time now to fix a couple of difficult bugs rather than patching the benchmark immediately after launch.

mertesn We'll see. I have a laptop with a Radeon Mobility 5870 that'll get put through the test on or near Nov 30. So far it's handled games pretty well.
