Futuremark, maker of benchmarking software such as the 3DMark and PCMark suites, has announced the return of its Lords of Overclocking competition.
The competition is open to professionals, enthusiasts, and hobbyists from all over the world and will use 3DMark 11 and MSI graphics cards. The top contestants from each region (Americas, Europe/Africa, and Asia-Pacific) will win a grand prize trip for two to compete in the MSI Master Overclocking Arena 2011 grand final in Taipei. Prizes will also be awarded for the top performers in each region as well as for randomly picked participants.
“We are excited to once again bring the world’s most talented overclockers together for our annual Lords of Overclocking competition,” said Jukka Mäkinen, Futuremark CEO. “With great prizes on offer from some of the most recognized names in PC performance it promises to be a closely fought contest.”
“This is the third year MSI has partnered with Futuremark to promote Lords of Overclocking as the premier online qualifying event for MOA,” said Jason Lee, Marketing Director at MSI. “Lords of Overclocking gives enthusiasts and overclockers around the world an opportunity to experience the performance, stability and quality of the military grade hardware in MSI mainboards and graphics cards in an exciting competitive setting.”
Entrants must use an MSI graphics card, commercially available parts, and 3DMark 11. The basic edition of 3DMark 11 is available for free from the Futuremark web site.
The competition runs from July 4 through August 1. Details of the competition can be found at the Futuremark Lords of Overclocking site.
