Want to boost your writing resume, get some freelance journalism experience, and be able to hang out with an awesome group of cool staffers? I’m looking to add one or two very motivated, driven, and passionate people who want to get the inside scoop on gaming, gain great contacts in the industry, and maybe even be able to attend gaming events as a member of the press.
Just imagine! You can do cool things like get a bunch of emails from fourth-rate indie game developers, practically begging you to write about their new game that is “Poised to appeal to the Tween and Young Adult Market Segments” featuring robotic puppies that allow you to apply makeup, choose fashions, and slay the evil cyborg kittens! You can wonder why your stories take three days to get published and your editor wakes up at 3pm on most weekdays! You can marvel at your colleagues as they grumble and complain about the lack of organization and pay!
All this can be yours for the low low price of awesome.
Here’s what I want: Someone who is a gamer, who can write relatively coherently (we have amazing editors), who can operate a computer at a basic level, and possesses one supremely important overall quality: The ability to deliver.
Send in your resume and join the IC Gaming team; Bobby, CB, Rob, Scotty, and I would love to have you! Email your contact info, a couple of writing samples, and resume (or a link to all of these things) along with a brief description of why you would make a great, irreverent, awesome, rad, super cool writer for IC to me (brian with the thing that means “at” icrontic and then a “dot” com).
