Apparently NVIDIA didn’t get the memo about Icrontic going to CES and how it might cause problems getting the news out. They decided to release the new GeForce GTX 285 and 295 video cards without giving Icrontic a good chance to share the news with you. Here’s how things stack up.
The GTX 295 is the fastest card on the market currently, pulling ahead of the ATI Radeon HD 4870X2 by a fair margin. It’s power hungry, loud, and will set you back $500, but that’s the price you pay for ultimate performance.
The single-GPU GTX 285 is a die-shrunk GTX 280 that should hit the shelves tomorrow for $400. It is the fastest single-GPU card on the market, but it sees heavy competition at its price point by competing dual-GPU setups.
