Google today announced that it has finally put the “stable” tag on Chrome 4.0 for Windows, making it suitable for global release.
The new version of Chrome adds several compelling features:
- Full ACID3 compliance;
- HTML5: Notifications, Web Database, Local Storage, WebSockets, Ruby support;
- JavaScript speed enhancements;
- New security feature: Strict Transport Security;
- “XSS Auditor” to prevent reflected cross-site scripting attacks;
- Bookmark syncing;
- and extension support.
Chrome 4.0 is available immediately from the official download page, and compatible extensions are available in the official extension gallery.
