Heroes of Might and Magic Online coming to PC

TQ Digital today announced that Heroes of Might and Magic Online (HMMO) is being developed for the PC under the Ubisoft banner. The closed beta phase will begin next month. There is yet no word on a final release date.

HMMO will be a massively multiplayer, turn-based strategy game, the first game ever to claim this genre, and the first AAA title to attempt an MMO with turn-based elements. The game will be taking its gameplay cues mostly from Heroes of Might and Magic III, while the graphics will resemble Heroes of Might and Magic V.

The press release gives this list of summarized features for the game:

  • First Persistent World Turn-Based Strategy MMO
  • 8 towns, 16 classes and 56 creatures
  • Hundreds of campaigns with epic storylines
  • Unique Anima and Dragon Scale Forge System
  • Glorious Guild Building & Exciting Guild Wars
  • Challenging Arena and PK Tournaments
  • Heroes can build towns of different factions

TiberiusLazarus Gameplay style of HMMIII? Why are they doing this to me? I lost enough time to that game and its expansions. I really don't need another MMO to try to steal the last remnants of my free time. But I must say I kind of hope this turns out well.

Winfrey HoMM = good times. I'm glad they are sticking to the third iteration's game-style as it is easily the best of the bunch imo.

GnomeWizardd Oh my Goodness I Cannot wait to try this

coldalarm I signed up for the beta key contest earlier in the day.
As excited as I am, I'm skeptical about an Eastern take on a Western franchise.
  5. Dale Chalfont That sucks hard, I've been dying for HOMM6 for ages, MMO FTL.
