Awww yeah
Our forums are the foundation of our community, and have been around for eight years in one form or another. I liken them to a big “Jungle Juice” cauldron at a big, wild party. People walk by and add random ingredients to the brew, and when you take a sip, you will get a wild mishmash of flavors. Our most valuable treasures are the conversations that spontaneously erupt from this wild conflagration of thoughts, ideas, and experiences.
Using a highly scientific system of mathematical equations, custom-crafted database queries, numerology, astrology, and consultation with spiritual advisors from several major traditions, we have finally arrived at our own personal favorite “Best of 2008” in Icrontic forum threads.
There was no single criteria to picking these discussions. They represent various grand aspects of our community, whether it be hardware expertise, ingenuity, humor, or real life experiences. Whether informational, motivational, or just plain silly, each of these conversations is an important thread in the tapestry that is Icrontic. We invite you to explore these discussions, and offer input where appropriate.
Without further ado, the list:
- Icrontic gets introduced to the Art of Manliness
- We have a battle between various members’ sexual kinks and fetishes
- One member uses his fitness experiences to influence and motivate many Icrontians
- We experience a resurgence in interest for the Folding@Home project
- One member decides to chronicle his krazy kustom kooling solution
- Icrontic HQ gets remodeled, with lots of input from the peanut gallery
- Icrontic is almost destroyed by a browser-based web game
- Various members get into a highly theoretical debate about philosophy and mathematics
- Wall mount PC case. Need we say more?
- We opened the IC Brewery forum and a friend asks a simple question: What are you drinking?
As always, going through these threads to make this list makes us remember what an amazing and wonderful community we have here. Keep on living the Icrontic Life!
