{IC} Stats: Operating Systems

I was just reading an interesting (if slightly sensationalist) Inq story about Vista uptake based on viewership stats, so I thought I’d delve into Icrontic’s stats.

Over the last month, 94.7% of Icrontic’s traffic has been from Windows systems, and about 2.5% each from Mac and Linux. Of the Windows traffic, 82.7% of it is Windows XP, 12% is Vista, and 2.8% is 2000.

    52.8% IE, 41.4% FF, 3.2% Opera, 1.4% Safari.

    IE is 53.5% for v7 and 46.1% for v6.

Of course, 98% of FF traffic is v2 or higher, with 2.0.0.7 logging 51.4% and 2.0.0.6 logging 38.2%.

As an aside, when designing the site, I check it in Firefox, IE6, and IE7 for pixel-by-pixel detail. I periodically check Opera and Safari for major issues.

GHoosdum Thanks for the breakdown. Interesting numbers. Something tells me that a lot of the spyware activity correlates to the IE numbers. ;)

I did a drilldown for people viewing the SVR forum (the actual forum page, not inclusive of threads):

    Firefox: 924 visits
    IE: 895 visits

Intriguing - perhaps influenced by the helpers. So, I went and found the most popular SVR thread

    Firefox: 814 visits
    IE: 753 visits

Looks like we have more FF people in the SVR forum; what their motives for being there are, Google Analytics cannot divine. :ninja:
