Back in October, Intel began offering firmware which promised to add TRIM support to the company’s lineup of new X25-M G2 SSDs. However, upgrade efforts were hampered when it was discovered that a bug in the flashing tool was bricking drives when the utility was used on Windows 7 x64. In response, Intel pulled the firmware and promised to return circa the end of November with a fix. Though the firm overshot its deadline by a few days, Intel has today begun offering firmware version 02HD which promises to restore SATA TRIM to the X25-M G2.
The new firmware is a component of Intel’s Solid-State Drive Firmware Update Tool, and it shouldn’t pull any of the shenanigans that cost users their drives and time.
Have fun storming the castle!
