Journal de la résistance – Jour deux

Journal de la résistance – Jour deux

358px-croix_de_lorraine2svgI finally received a coded commission from number one. I was beginning to despair of ever hearing from him (her? One can never tell anymore) regarding the operation. It has been given a codename: Pandémie. In English, this would be “Pandemic”.

The commission was very brief. I am to bring only very basic equipment. I was given to understand that the less one knows while en route, the better. Information will be given as needed when we arrive at headquarters.

I was told that I will be flown in; but not how. I can only assume that since Pandemic is so clandestine, it will be a rough journey. Perhaps I will be flown in a mail transport. I had heard rumors that the résistance had “procured” a Farman postal aeroplane. I cannot substantiate any of this information; these are words I hear from other low-level agents. Perhaps I will be sharing a cabin with sacks of letters.

Since I am number five, it can only be assumed that there are at least three others. I was told that I will have rendez-vous with number three once we arrive.

I must admit that I do not know why I was chosen to become a saboteur. Perhaps my luck at evading Wehrmacht patrols has been noticed. Perhaps my mastery of English and German will be of assistance. Perhaps my hatred for the Vichy swine has become well known in our circles. I only know that I serve France, and I go forth to do my duty. Perhaps I go forth to die. But know this: I will take as many of them with me as I can.

Vive la résistance.

UPSLynx I like where this is going. Still think I know the outcome, playing my cards close to my chest.

DrLiam From what I gather, WWII occupied France/Paris. Maybe this is a story about Paris being pumped full of explosives and almost being destroyed... Time will tell.

    Interesting read so far. :]
