The Konami pre-E3 press conference

The Konami pre-E3 press conference

Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, start!

Konami held their first annual Pre-E3 show to showcase what they have in store for us at this year’s E3. The event was held in Santa Monica, CA at the Sony Pictures Studio and broadcast online.

The start of the event was a good 55 minutes, playing all the games that they are showing this year—which includes a fighting game called SkullGirls, a game that reminds me of Mercury called “Puddle” for the PS3 Move, MLB Bobble Head Pro, Burger Time World Tour, and more. Most, if not all, of the games that they had available to play will be on Xbox Live, Playstation Network, Nintendo Wii and the PC sometime in the summer or later.

Afterwards, Konami was set to start their press conference. The entire press conference was broadcast on TVs scattered throughout the room. It was nice because attendees were able to sit down and drink and watch the conference. If  you missed it, you can watch the entire show in the video below:

After the press conference video was over, we could mingle and play some more of the games they had on hand. I was able to meet up with some of friends that I met during past E3 events like Rob Welkner and Hailey Bright from Coin-Op TV, Andrea Rene from Clevver Games, and Crix Lee, Editor-in-Chief of Girl Gamer. Overall the event was a blast to attend. Some of the highlights of the event included knowing that Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, and Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 will be in HD for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. Learning more about and watching the new trailer for NeverDead was really exciting as well. And last but not least, seeing this short trailer at the end of the main press conference was a huge plus.
