Live action Skyrim trailer unveiled

Pre-order Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim NOW

Bethesda Softworks this morning released a live-action trailer for their upcoming action role-playing game Skyrim. It features some expensive looking sets; lots of medieval-rag costumes; some fire; a dragon; and one badass looking dragon hunter, driving home the point that this new entry in the Elderscrolls franchise will be much ado about dragons. Expect to see this trailer hit prime-time television this week.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be available 11 November, 2011. Pre-order Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim NOW

    STILL TOO LONG!!!!

I just wish there was some more races and a little magic thrown in, but it is a commercial not a full blown movie so the budget and time frame needs to be taken into account. (TES movie doesn't sound too bad an idea though.)

RahnalH102 Hmm, no elaborate emotes allowed. I'll remember that.

I don't know. The biggest joy of a TES game is exploring the really deep back stories and histories and stuff that you can only get from a many-hour interactive narrative. I don't think it would translate well into film.

It would end up as just another fantasy film like all the rest.

Remember the Dungeon Siege film? It would be like that. *shudders*

RahnalH102 I agree with your point, the game would just be on a whole other level that movie would have scant possibility to remake.

I was thinking along the lines of a separate story in the TES universe. Kinda like "The Infernal City" book series that is going on. If Bethesda Studios was behind all the story of the movie and made sure all the Lore was right, it may have a good chance of doing well. However, the desire is still a fanboy dream, and you know those don't always work.
  6. Matt B Is anyone else tired of wyverns being portrayed as dragons? MUST HAVE SKYRIM!!!!
  7. Theseus Lies. This is game play footage.

I could see them doing a movie just following the main quest line, which in itself, is pretty epic
