Magicka FTP Weekend

I put on my robe and wizard hat

Magicka, the unconventional fantasy game from Arrowhead, has come a long way from its initial broken release back in January. With no small amount of patching, plenty of both free and pay-for DLC—Magicka is now a truely excellent mutliplayer experience and for this weekend at least, a free one. Paradox Interactive have announced a Steam free weekend for those amongst us who have “yet to experience death-by-typo” and as an added bonus Magicka will available at a 75% discount for the duration.

Also of interest to Magicka players is the forthcoming The Stars Are Left expansion which promises to both add more of Magicka’s unique gameplay and fix what few bugs and annoyances remain in the game with a free tech update. Of particular interest is the news that checkpoints will now work between game sessions, solo players will have a fairy familiar to revive them and that the player will have option to replay previous chapters. For more information about The Stars Are Left check out the developer Q&A below.

Magicka is available on Steam, currently for a ridiculous $2.49. At this price, it’s basically a crime not to buy it.

primesuspect I met these dudes at E3 and played several rounds of Magicka PvP with them. It was a riot, and the passion they have for their own game is tremendous. They absolutely LOVE Magicka, and it shows.
