Paradox today announced that a Nintendo DSiWare spin-off of their fantasy kingdom sim Majesty 2 is in the works. Pocket Kingdom is an RTS loosely based on the PC game Majesty 2, which features a completely new and original campaign.
From the press release:
- Real-Time Strategy with indirect control – your heroes have a will of their own! Place a high enough reward as incentive however, and they will go hunting monsters or discovering new lands at your command
- 12 mission campaign
- Cast magic spells using the Nintendo DS stylus
We reviewed Majesty 2 last year and called it a “casual RTS”; the DSiWare version looks like it rests firmly in the same camp; but perhaps because of this, a handheld system may just be the perfect place for a game like this.
