In demonstrating that copyright is worth “protecting” only for as long as DRM is worth supporting, it’s a well-known (and often corporate-advised) trick that burning protected tracks to a CD and ripping them back to disk will foil DRM. Irritatingly, this process produces a CD you’re probably just going to throw out when you’re done.
Today’s download of the day skips the CD and uses a virtual burner. DVD neXt Copy will burn the tracks to the virtual device, rip them back to disk, and maintains all the associated meta data for the tracks.
