Mike Haggar for Mayor of Metro City

Mike Haggar for Mayor of Metro City

Capcom has put together some humorous videos to promo the recently released Final Fight: Double Impact. The videos take the infamous Final Fight ex-wrestler Mike Haggar and place him in the Mayoral race for Metro City.

The videos, made in a style similar to the original retro graphics of the Final Fight games, show Haggar being questioned by citizens of how his run as Mayor will affect their lives. Haggar only speaks with the original grunts and yells that he uttered during the Final Fight games, and the responses always end up with general absurdities that reference features of the original games, such as finding food in copious objects scattered around the city and abusing animals with his signature moves. The third video even pits Haggar against an opposing candidate in an election debate. All three of the promos can be seen on Gametrailer’s website.

Final Fight: Double Impact was released last Thursday on the Xbox Live Arcade and Playstation Network. Double Impact includes the original Final Fight as well as the classic side-scrolling fantasy game Magic Sword. The games retain their retro charm while sporting additions such as newly remixed soundtracks and internet co-op play. Final Fight: Double Impact can be purchased for 800 MS Points on Live Arcade, and $9.99 on the Playstation Network.
