Mind of UPSLynx for the week of February 21st

As a kid, I beat the swimming stage in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on the NES, and even that wasn’t as difficult as it is working at an NBC affiliate TV station during the Olympics. Despite the 2010 games keeping me at work well past my bed time, I have been enjoying the events, particularly hockey and curling. There’s just something special about sliding a 40 pound piece of granite on a long sheet of ice–special enough to inspire Dunigan, myself and a few other college buddies to play the game in our hallway with bowling balls.

Next, if you are still using the Windows 7 Release Candidate, time is running out for you to enjoy that shiny new operating system. Starting in March, the Release Candidate will shut down automatically every two hours. Come June, your PC will bite the dust. So upgrade now, or forever hold your peace.

Finally, Italy is having issues with their privates. The Italian court is convicting three executives from Google for breaking Italian privacy laws. Essentially, Google is being punished for the wrongdoing of a user on one of their services. The whole thing is a mess, but how do I really feel about it? Press play before I’m thrown in jail for someone else’s offense!

If it’s Friday(ish), it’s Mind of UPSLynx.

UPSLynx Apologies for the hiss in the audio. I apparently screwed my sound card installation when I went back to XP and couldn't boost my mic gain. Didn't realize it was this bad until I got home from work and began editing last night.

It'll be fixed by next week.
  2. Winfrey
Winfrey That hiss is the hiss from a crowd watching a melodrama as the villain enters the stage. I guess they forgot to boo this time.

    oh....

    USA USA USA USA USA!
  3. Bandrik
Bandrik OHHHHHH MANNNNNNNNNNN! FOURRRRRRRR EAAAAAAST!!! Classic, man.

Also the audio sounded just fine to me. Maybe my speakers aren't as finely tuned as I would like to think they are, but you sounded just fine.

Finally: While not featured, Tetris Music C is clearly superior. :D

  5. BuddyJ
BuddyJ I'm so jealous. I wanna go curling soooooo bad.

We've been having Olympic lunches here at the office. We go to McDonalds, get the 10 piece chicken mcnuggets with the Olympics sauce like the Olympians eat, and then we come back to the office and watch curling and cheer USA USA USA.
  6. primesuspect
primesuspect Pete if you could get up here between december and march, we can go.
  7. DrLiam
DrLiam Canada might win gold in both men's and women's curling. Wouldn't that be nice. :)

  10. Thrax
Thrax Hey, you can't simultaneously bitch about the cold and snow all the time and lust after the awesome experiences it provides. PICK ONE, JERK.
  11. UPSLynx
UPSLynx Oh but I can, oh but I will.

Besides, curling is generally done indoors. You can do it any time!
