Following suit with Gigabyte and ASUS, it has recently been revealed that MSI is also preparing a range of motherboards that feature the new USB 3.0 and SATA 6Gbps I/O specifications.
Kicking off the show with the P55-GD85, MSI has tapped the Marvell 88SE9123 chip to drive SATA 6Gbps connectivity and a NEC D720200F1 controller to provide USB 3.0. As indicated by the model name, the board features an Intel P55 chipset for Core i7 800/Core i5 700-series support. Rounding out the specifications, the P55-GD85 offers four dual channel DDR3 memory slots, twin PCIe x16 slots, a pair of PCI and PCIe x1 slots, 8+2 PWMs, and an array of MSI-patented technologies like OC Genie V-Check Point and SuperPipe.
