NCsoft today announced Ghosts of Ascalon—a novel intended as a tie in to the Guild Wars franchise. The book will be out this summer in time to promote Guild Wars 2.
The press release describes the plot thusly: “A mismatched band of adventurers, each plagued by ghosts from their pasts, journeys into the haunted, war-torn kingdom of Ascalon to retrieve a sacred relic that holds the promise of peace between humanity and their ancestral enemies, the savage charr. But not everyone wants peace, and the undead king who rules Ascalon won’t give it up easily!”
Ghosts of Ascalon, written by Jeff Grubb and Matt Forbeck, will take place in Ascalon, hundreds of years after the events of Guild Wars, the same as the announced setting of Guild Wars 2.
