Hamlet, or last game without MMORPG elements, shaders, and product placement
For the PC this week, Hamlet, or last game without MMORPG elements, shaders, and product placement is a traditional adventure game being touted as the first indie game to be set in the world of Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In this game players will have to solve a sequence of logic puzzles to move from screen to screen during the events of Hamlet. However there is no “inventory” in the game, so each screen is a true puzzle in and of itself, rather than a sequence of inventory interactions.
Satisfashion
On the Wii we’re getting Satisfashion. Grace was born with a natural fashion sense, and she’s finally being recognized. Help her rise to the top of the fashion world in this fashion-plates puzzle game. Each fashion show offers only a limited time to make the best fashion choices from the available clothes, so quick thinking and a good memory for the rules of fashion will be required to advance. Act quick, and become the most successful designer on the circuit.
Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West
The Icrontic spotlight this week falls on the cross-platform release Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild West. This is a team-based, multiplayer only, third-person shooter. Each match, players split up into two teams, Red and Blue, then choose from among four specialized classes. The Blaster plays best defense with his shotgun and sticks of dynamite. The Trapper carries a scoped rifle, and a selection of bear traps. The Gunslinger has a heavy revolver with two firing modes to switch between speed and accuracy. The deputy carries a plain rifle, but calls the targets on the opposing team, allowing the players to coordinate attacks. Also launching with seven game types across six maps, the game is sure to offer enough variety to keep players interested for awhile. The game rewards those who play as a team, so if that’s what you’re into you might want to head over to the Steam store and check it out. No word yet about the matchmaking or voice support, either of which could make or break this game.
