New Releases for the Week of Gun-toting Fluids and Dynamic Lizard Physics

New Releases for the Week of Gun-toting Fluids and Dynamic Lizard Physics

Enigmo

The little drops of mysterious fluid need to reach their destinations in Enigmo. Multi-colored sources are dripping, and the player must use a bevy of tools at their disposal, Incredible-Machine-style to get them in their pots. Fairly basic, but with lots of polish, and topped off with a level editor. Although it calls itself a 3D puzzle game, but the mechanics are unfortunately only 2D.

RIFT

It seems like every other week I get to tell you about yet another pay MMO, which everyone will forget about it a few months. This week it’s Rift. Looks cool. Sounds like a neat story. Costs $15/month to play. Pass.

Rango: The Video Game

Rango: The Video Game is a tie-in game for the new Johnny Depp animated feature, Rango. In the movie Depp voices an odd lizard, who comes to the small town of Dirt as its new sheriff, and struggles for acceptance while saving the town from certain destruction.  The game will be a series of various play-types, in which the player re-enacts some of the adventures from the film. The nice thing that I see here is that the graphics look pretty much just like the movie, so the visual tie-in will be close to seamless. Of course, little thought was likely put into the actual game-play, so expect crap, but I’ve been wrong about these tie-ins before.

PixelJunk Shooter 2

This week’s Icrontic Spotlight blisters the rolling surface of PixelJunk Shooter 2, which is, for the first time, an actual sequel to one of the PixelJunk games.  It will incorporate a bunch of new features, like online multi-player and co-op with a AI controlled friend, but it retains all the features that made the first one so popular, like the engine which fills the world with dynamic fluids and interesting, ever-changing levels filled with crazy danger. Too bad about the platform. Are people still buying games for the PS3? I thought they went out of business or something. No? Really? Because I’m sure I heard that somewhere…

CB You're right, sorry. RIFT is the one that is only for Windows. My finger must have slipped dropping the graphic in. :/
