New Releases for The Week of Little Towns and Flux Capacitors

New Releases for The Week of Little Towns and Flux Capacitors

Fallout 3 New Vegas: Dead Money

Another slow week in game releases, but I would like to discuss a select few. I’d love to be able to talk about Dead Money, the Fallout 3: New Vegas expansion, but as I’m a bit backlogged, and haven’t played New Vegas yet, I’m not going to be looking up anything about it. Sorry. Besides, it’s not out for PC yet, so why bother?

World of Keflings

World of Keflings might be worth mentioning. Kingdom for Keflings received much praise when it was released, and the tiny people are back for further adventures—this time moving away from the single kingdom and out into several different biomes. Players will build cities out in tundra, desert, and wilderness, with many different quests and building types to work with.

Back to the Future: The Game

More interesting still is the Icrontic Spotlight, Back to the Future: The Game. Back in October, when I first saw this game’s title, I thought, “How sad that someone let the ‘Back to the Future’ IP into the hands of some crappy developer who’s going to make some dumb spin-off adventure that doesn’t even make sense.” I almost passed it over without research, but something made me look just a little bit deeper, and the first thing I discovered was that the  developer is Telltale, makers of the new Sam & Max and Monkey Island adventure games, which is a bit exciting, as I know they’ll at least do it right. Still, I thought, “But I already know the Back to the Future story by heart, won’t an adventure game based on the movies be too easy to figure out?” Soon after, a trailer was released, in which the story is revealed: Doc Brown is in trouble somewhere in time, and Marty has to find him, and figure out a way to rescue him. The plot is an entirely new adventure in the Back to the Future universe, taking place soon after the end of the third movie. Christopher Lloyd returns to the role of Doc Brown for this game, which I’m sure I’ll be telling you a lot more about as each of the five chapters (one per month for the next five months) are released.

CrazyJoe While I'm mildly excited for a B2tF game, the price tag seems a bit high for an episodic game. I might check it out once it comes out with all parts in one package.
