First up: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash-Up will be out for the Wii and PS2 this week. Parts of the team that brought us Super Smash Bros. Brawl worked on this title which touts itself as the first TMNT title not to be directly tied in with a particular movie or series. Choose your Turtles characters, and battle it out in one of many interactive fighting arenas, or play through a new TMNT story, writen by Turtles co-creator Peter Laird, in the Story Mode. Collect shells throughout the game to unlock mini-games and bonus content.
Also for the Wii is The Price Is Right 2010 Edition. “Come on Down” to America’s longest running TV game show, as it gets an updated video game version. Sit down with your friends to play a full, hour-long show, from Bidder’s Row to Showcase Showdown, or just play some one-off pricing games. It doesn’t allow you to import your Mii, but you can create your own custom Price is Right avatar to personalize the experience.
Dropping exclusively for the XBox360 this week is Halo 3: ODST. Join the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers of the Halo universe in this new FPS that uses the Halo 3 engine. If you enjoy Halo games, here’s another one. (Editor’s note: The Amazon link above contains a $10 coupon promo. Buy ODST and get $10 a future Amazon game purchase)
Finally, completing a hat-trick for the Wii this week, is Icrontic’s Spotlight Release, Spyborgs. Team up with a friend in this action/brawler with a modern visual style, reminiscent of recent CGI movies. You could play by yourself, but the game really seems to shine in co-op mode, where two players each pick from among three super-hero cyborgs who have been betrayed by a former team member. Play through 35 missions that emphasize the need for a teammate with puzzles and bosses that require the players to work together in order to succeed. Taking full advantage of the WiiMote motion controls to get your revenge, the game allows the players to perform special combo moves together, and earn new moves and other character bonus through collection of “Crimson Sparks”, which can be spent on a wide array of character upgrades.
