There are only a pair of new releases this week. First up is the Wii release Monster Hunter Tri. Return to the hunt with this newest title in the Monster Hunter franchise. Start out as a novice hunter of monsters, hunting down great beasts to earn a reputation, and help save your village, then use parts of the monster to craft new weapons and armor that make it possible to safely take on stronger monsters. In Arena mode, players can team up locally or over the internet to take monsters down cooperatively. Communicate online with the included live voice chat over the WiiSpeak, or save your hunter to your WiiMote, and bring it with you to a local game. The most prominent addition to the gameplay from past iterations is underwater environments. Also, the game comes bundled with the new Wii Classic Controller.
The other is the cross-platform release Puzzle Chronicles. In this puzzle RPG players will learn various gem-matching puzzles, which they will use to fight bad guys, and advance a pseudo-medieval fantasy story. The core mechanic for the puzzles in this one is dropping lines, which can be shifted to fall into the right place for match making. The gimmick is that the player gets to watch an animated fight scene representing the moves they make.
