Lonpos is a puzzle game out for WiiWare this week. Players are challenged to fit a series of shapes completely into a grid. The game allows multiple players to control the puzzle with the Wiimotes, similar to the photo channel functions.
Nintendo is bringing the 1996 classic PC game Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars to the DS. Fans of the adventure game will be able to relive the experience in this “director’s cut” version of the original. It features a brand new opening sequence in which the players discover what Nicole was doing before she met up with George, and several new puzzles to work through, as you follow the manuscript across the globe.
Tower defense fans might want to check out Savage Moon on PSN. The enemies are numerous and the graphics are slick. Protect your resources from a swarming insectile enemy.
The Icrontic Spotlight this week shines on Halo Wars. Throughout the Halo series the protagonist has been struggling through a (ring) world at war, seeing only the small battles taking place around him, and only hearing about the epic battles of the past which culminated in the destruction of Reach. In this new entrant to the franchise, players will be given the chance to command some of these epic battles. Taking place 20 years before the discovery of Halo, the SPARTAN-II project is only just off the ground, and hostilities with the Covenant are only just beginning. It will be interesting to see how well the Halo license lends itself to the RTS genre. If you try it out, let us know in the comments.
