Have you been itching to get your mittens on HTC’s Nexus One, perhaps better known as the Google Phone? Get ready, because rumors coalescing over the weekend have pegged an official launch day of January 5 at 9 AM (timezone unknown).
Here’s what you need to know:
- The phone is $530 unsubsidized.
- If you want a carrier subsidy, the phone can only be had from T-Mobile for $179.99.
- The only rate plan you can select is $79.99, and it comes with unlimited text, unlimited data, 500 anytime minutes, free nights and weekends, and unlimited calling within the T-Mobile network.
- If your contract is for a single line, you must change plans.
- Any contract that specifies multiple lines, flexible payments or other such services must buy the $530 unsubsidized handset. The $79.99 plan is for one person on one phone only.
- Existing single person, single line customers are eligible for unspecified upgrade pricing.
- All support and product exchanges will be handled directly by HTC and Google, not T-Mobile. T-Mobile is merely providing support for the pipe: Service, coverage, features and plans.
- If you cancel your plan within 120 days, and the handset was purchased on subsidy, you must pay the price difference of the unsubsidized unit, or $350.
- Google will sell the phone at google.com/phone.
