NVIDIA to drop goofy re-naming scheme?

DailyTech says they’ve received a confidential email circulating around NVIDIA offices suggesting the company is abandoning the renaming of the 9800 GT to the GTS 240. The whole “let’s rename everything to GTS/X and try to claim it’s a new product” business has upset board partners and raised consumer concerns who’ve suggested it’s more of a last-ditch attempt to steal attention away from ATI. We hope the rumor is true, and the company will get back to making new products instead of trying to rehash old ones.
