Nvidia today has finally announced that the 8800 Ultra will get price cuts across the board. The price cut is slated to be $80-$100 and will allow some of these cards to be in the mid $600 range on up. This still sounds a bit outrageous for a high-end enthusiast GPU, but this move will also allow the entire 8 series line to drop in price especially the 8800 GTX and 8800 GTS lines.
Nvidia’s steps in dropping the prices for it high-end market will also put the pinch on AMD with its upcoming 2900XTX.
