Today, NVIDIA is pulling the wraps off of their new Enthusiast System Architecture (ESA) protocol. The ESA suite allows devices such as the chassis, water cooling and power supply to communicate directly and present the results to the end-user. Traditionally, each of these components had monitoring applications as independent as the devices themselves.
Unlike most NVIDIA initiatives, such as MXM, this standard is fully open and comes flanked by HP, Dell, CoolerMaster, and Falcon Northwest (Amongst others). It is hoped that ESA will be implemented industry-wide to provide enthusiasts with a single point of accurate information for data such as flow rate, fan RPM, voltage and temperature.
