OCZ Technology announced yesterday that it has begun offering firmware version VBM19C1Q which adds ATA TRIM support to the company’s lineup of Summit SSDs.
The new firmware and the appropriate flashing tool are available immediately from OCZ’s support forum; the firmware works for the OCZSSD2-1SUM60G, OCZSSD2-1SUM120G and OCZSSD2-1SUM250G drives, erases all data during flashing, and only works when the motherboard’s drive controller is set to IDE mode.
And because these drives now support the ATA TRIM command, we’ve added them to our growing list of SSDs which feature the performance-sustaining standard.
