OCZ Technology yesterday announced new Gold-series 4GB DDR3-1333 modules (OCZ3G1333LV4G), as well as an 8GB kit (OCZ3G1333LV8GK) based on the new DIMMs.
“As new software for productivity and entertainment become available consumers are looking to get the very most out of their PC’s and our new 4GB DDR3 modules will help them do exactly that,” said Ryan Petersen, CEO of the OCZ Technology Group. “Designed for both Intel and AMD platforms, the new 8GB Dual Channel Kits improve application loading times, frame rates and task switching, all of which make them an excellent solution for everyone from graphic designers to gamers.”
OCZ says that the new kits are designed for platforms with limited memory capacity, such as SFF PCs or HTPCs. As for who might benefit, OCZ has positioned them for “graphic designers, CAD engineers, along with music and video professionals” as well as gamers, who will improve load times on demanding titles.
With a 1.65V VDIMM and 9-9-9-20 (CAS-TRCD-TRP-TRAS) timings, the 8GB kit is available immediately with a street price of approximately $280 USD.
